Spring Has Sprung & Hiring Events for Hurricane Evacuees

This week:

Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung. Reason you can tell? Because we all had to “spring forward” our clocks a week or so ago, though believe me, I’m still trying to find that lost hour of sleep! Why might one be confused? Because the weather is still crazy cold across most of the country, with nor’easters and blizzards creating treacherous conditions all over the Atlantic and northeast states, and even hail here in Central Florida!  My downtown office team got to know each other better on Tuesday while sheltering in the interior offices during the tornado warning – it always pays to be prepared.

Looking ahead:

Hiring Events for Hurricane Evacuees

Central Florida has been a haven to thousands of evacuees looking for a new start, and more people are projected to make this region their home.  New residents need housing, school options, transportation and fundamentally, good jobs. Hiring events like the one on April 9th at the CareerSource Central Florida Kissimmee office, will help evacuees make a new start. With positions in tech and I.T., construction, hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare, opportunities do exist here where career pathways are ready and waiting. Managers, electricians, teachers, and healthcare professionals are just some of the many positions being recruited for at the event.
