Once again, CareerSource Central Florida has partnered with Florida High Tech Corridor to host The Corridor Talent Forum in Orlando on March 27-29, 2019. Through rapid-fire networking sessions, receptions and presentations, The Corridor Talent Forum helps organizations build and strengthen relationships with over 50 state colleges and university contacts who work directly with students preparing to graduate from top STEM degree programs in a matter of hours – not days and travel time.
This talent forum helps recruit top talent from around the nation to support the growth of the high tech industry in Florida.
If you are interested in participating in the talent forum and discuss hiring needs, please contact Dana Carr, Economic Development Liaison with CareerSource Central Florida at DCarr@CareerSourceCF.Com or 407-247-0473.

Please join CSCF in congratulating Steve Nguyen, Vice President of Information Technology, who recently graduated as a member of the City of Orlando’s Leadership Orlando Class 95, along with 81 of his classmates.
For over 40 years, Leadership Orlando has provided business and community leaders with the opportunity to explore the Central Florida Region while building lasting relationships with professional peers. With more than 5,000 graduates, it’s Central Florida’s only community leadership program that spans the entire seven-county region and is the largest program in America, offering multiple classes each year.

Gabriel Aponte joined CSCF’s Youth program for support in gaining employment. During his time in the youth program, the CSCF team helped Gabriel enroll in Second Harvest’s Culinary Training Program – due to his passion for cooking – to help pursue a sustainable career in the food industry.
Engaged and motivated, Gabriel excelled in the training curriculum and recently graduated from the program with valuable “hands-on” experience and skills needed for an entry-level position in any foodservice establishment. With his newly-acquired knowledge and enhanced skills, Gabriel secured a culinary position at the Grand Bohemian Downtown Orlando. CSCF is proud of his hard work and dedication, and excited to share the news of his success in and out of the classroom.

The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Central Florida region (Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Sumter counties) was 2.7 percent in October 2018. This rate was 0.8 percentage point lower than the region’s year ago rate of 3.5 percent. The region’s October 2018 unemployment rate was 0.3 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.0 percent. The labor force was 1,388,477, up 45,298 (+3.4) over the year. There were 38,166 unemployed residents in the region.
