CareerSource Central Florida Honored with Personal Empowerment Corporate Award from Central Florida Urban League

Orlando, Fla. – CareerSource Central Florida’s (CSCF) president and CEO Pamela J. Nabors has received the Personal Empowerment Corporate Award from the Central Florida Urban League. This award is presented to an organization that has positively influenced personal development, achievement, and opportunity for success in our community and was presented during the League’s Annual Awards Breakfast Ceremony at the Citrus Club in Orlando. Under Nabors’ leadership, CSCF successfully empowered more than 70,000 career seekers to elevate their skills and secure sustainable careers. Additionally, 4,700 businesses were transformed to include smarter talent development initiatives within the five-county region of Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Sumter counties across Central Florida during the last fiscal year.

“I am truly honored to accept this award on behalf of the entire CareerSource Central Florida team, who every day put their all into helping every one of our business and career-seeking customers connect to success,” said Nabors. “This award is as much ours as it is the community’s, because we collaborate so closely with our education, business, government, and non-profit partners to bring options and solutions to our regional employment needs for all.”

CSCF’s commitment to change people’s lives, transform businesses and create more prosperity for the Central Florida community is revealed in the many services offered to create enhanced opportunities. Services include employer pre-screening, hiring events, paid on-the-job training, resume and interview coaching and complimentary educational scholarships. As the second largest regional workforce board in Florida, the ultimate goal of CSCF is to place and retain qualified talent within sustainable careers. Nearly 20,000 Central Floridians gaining employment during the 2017-2018 program year at an average wage of $15.28 per hour.
