The grand opening of our first-ever college-based career center was monumental for our Board members, local organizations, businesses and community leaders. This newly renovated and re imagined career center places us in a greater position to truly impact and transform the lives of residents and businesses in Lake and Sumter counties.
Our new career center is located in Lake-Sumter State College’s (LSSC) Building M and will not only help promote students’ success in the labor market but also create a strong talent pipeline. Just this past year, we upskilled more than 6,000 individuals and connected over 1,000 career seekers to employment opportunities in Lake and Sumter counties.
The event was kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony with key stakeholders and included guided tours for community partners to see how the new location is designed to ignite potential, build relationships and create more prosperity for our community.
