Governor Ron DeSantis Awards CareerSource Central Florida with $39,000 Veterans Performance Incentive Award
Orlando, Fla. – CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) has been honored by Governor Ron DeSantis with the Veterans Performance Incentive Award for its exemplary work providing training and employment opportunities to thousands of veterans across the region — granting $39,000 to further enhance its priority services of individualized career coaching, advance skills training, and job placement activities to help veterans transition from military service to a civilian career. As the second largest workforce board in Florida, CSCF served nearly 3,000 veterans last fiscal year with talent solutions such as career workshops, educational resources, certifications and/or specialized training aimed at helping veterans achieve their career goals or improve their credentials.
“CareerSource Central Florida is honored to receive this prestigious award but even more honored to serve our 3,000 military heroes and their families by supporting them along their career journey,” said Pamela J. Nabors, CareerSource Central President and CEO. “We will be using these funds to expand the services provided to veterans as they transition from their military career to their next career opportunity.”
The Veterans Performance Incentive Award is awarded to Local Workforce Development Boards in three categories by local workforce development area sizes: large, medium and small. A review committee comprised of representatives from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, CareerSource Florida and the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training reviewed the nominations and selected the awardees.
