We’re Thirsty to Ignite Their Potential

CSCF, in collaboration with The Coca-Cola Company and Taylor Horan, a UCF alumna, recently hosted the Dear Future Orlando Challenge event in Orlando. The initiative encouraged young adults ages 18 to 24 to submit ideas that tackle community-specific challenges. Taylor’s submission was inspired by her personal experience when she was in high school and wishes she had exposure to different career paths and opportunities available in her community.

Her award submission became a reality and 100 Orange County high school seniors attended this half-day event. The students heard from community partners and educators about career paths and opportunities existing in their community. Also, they learned about the opportunities available with our Youth Program, the six high-growth industries and success stories from the guest speakers. During the interactive discovery sessions, students met with representatives from Orange County Technical College, Valencia College and other community partners.

Taylor praised our outstanding execution of the event and was thrilled to see her idea come to life and hopes more community and educational partners get involved in future events to ignite the potential in even more youth.
