Summer Work ExperienceCareer Conextions is a movement to create a better educated, trained, and prepared workforce to meet the demands of area businesses. Powered by CareerSource Central Florida, Career Conextions provides opportunities for motivated 16 to 19 year-olds to access the tools and resources they need to create a more successful future for themselves.
Career Conextions’ Summer Youth Employment Program is an opportunity for qualified sophomores, juniors, and seniors to gain valuable work experience by participating in a summer internship. Students receive mentoring, occupational skills training, leadership development, and financial education to support their introduction into the workplace.
Applications will be reviewed by CareerSource Central Florida team members to determine eligibility. Limited slots are available, so we encourage you to submit an application as soon as possible.

Career Conextions invites local businesses to participate in the Summer Youth Employment Program to help shape participants’ longterm career goals. This rewarding opportunity helps young career seekers gain critical skills, while also building the future talent pipeline in Central Florida.
Required Work Skills Training Course:
(students who successfully compete will earn a $200 incentive)
Work Experience Internships: Begin the week after the Work Skills Training Course
Maximum hours per week: 30 hours
Pay rate: $9.00

Why should you be selected for this work experience opportunity?
If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent’s or legal guardian’s consent before you can be admitted into the Summer Youth Employment Program.

Interns will have the opportunity to work onsite at your business during the summer.
CareerSource Central Florida pays intern wages (Minimum of 9.00 an hour for seven weeks, at a maximum of 30 hours per week).
Upon signing a worksite agreement, CareerSource Central Florida assumes the Workers’ Compensation Liability Insurance for interns.
CareerSource Central Florida contracts with Manpower as the employer of record and payroll entity.
CareerSource Central Florida’s Career Services Consultants are available to assist should any work performance issues arise.
