Job Description:

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience. Must have point free Class B driver license with S and P endorsements or permit. Employer conducts drug screening, background, reference and motor vehicle record checks.

Job Responsibilities: Transporting students to and from school or school activities. Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles. Maintain order among pupils during trips to ensure safety. Pick up and drop off students at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following schedules. Complete a pre-trip. Other duties may be assigned.

Work Schedule: To be discussed with employer.

Salary: $13.47 per hour.

Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic

Job Description:

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalence or Florida Special Diploma with One year of experience as a mechanic, preferably on large vehicles. Must have a valid Florida Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with Passenger endorsement and verification of a point free driving record through the State Department of Motor Vehicles. Possession of a Class A CDL with Passenger Endorsement is preferred. A Class A CDL with Passenger endorsement must be obtained within six months from the date of employment. Certification as a State Certified Bus Inspector is preferred but required. Certification must be obtained within one year from the date of employment. Experience in the used of a two-way radio. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. A general knowledge of hydraulic and air brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, transmission and differential systems. Must have self provided tools to work on vehicles. Employer conducts drug screening, background, reference and motor vehicle record checks; alcohol testing when required by School Board, State and/or Federal policy.

Job Responsibilities: Will perform repairs and maintenance on vehicles as instructed on the work orders assigned by the Garage Manager. Report to the Supervisor of Fleet Services and Garage Operations any necessary repairs not listed on the work order. Perform monthly safety inspections on school buses, emphasizing vehicle safety. Attend assigned workshops and training programs. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Fleet Services and Garage Operations.

Salary: $16.67 per hour.
