Workforce Investment Act Program

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Program offers training and customized services beyond CareerSource Central Florida’s basic services for those who qualify.  Individuals may be eligible for up to $7,000 towards training in local demand occupations or for paid work experience to gain specific job skills.

CareerSource Central Florida partners with many local colleges, technical schools, and providers in order to make a variety of opportunities available to WIA participants.

The goal of the WIA Program is to assist you in securing full-time employment at a self-sufficient rate of pay. WIA is a program that provides assistance to applicants in obtaining suitable employment. CareerSource Central Florida will assess your current skill set and if it is determined that your current skill set needs strengthening to enable you to obtain employment at a self-sufficient rate of pay, then training may be considered as an option for you.

To learn more about the WIA program and to get started in the application process, you will need to attend one of our overview presentations held at our offices.  A list of the times and locations of the Get to Know CareerSource/WIA Overview is provided below.  To schedule yourself to attend one of our overview sessions, please visit our Appointment Booking Page and select your office under the Develop You Workshops section.
