Our FORTE initiative is in partnership with:
CareerSource Central Florida (CSCF) has launched a new initiative called FORTE, which stands for “Fostering Opioid Recovery Through Training and Employment.” FORTE also means strength, and this initiative is providing vital career and business services that strengthen and empower Central Floridians with work-force solutions in the fight against opioids.
Project Opioid’s efforts played a vital role in the state of Florida receiving a $5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, and locally, CSCF was awarded $2.7 million to get those affected back to work.
Be a Part of the Solution
Engaging businesses to help foster opioid recovery through the community while developing top talent in the area.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 100,000 Americans died of an overdose from April 2020 to April 2021 – the highest number of overdose deaths ever recorded in 12 months. In Central Florida, we experienced approximately 51 overdose deaths a month or over 1.5 deaths a day.
Our Fostering Opioid Recovery through Training and Employment (FORTE) initiative focuses on providing complimentary workforce solutions to support businesses and career seekers affected by the opioid crisis.
To help businesses meet challenges due to the opioid crisis – from recognizing signs of dependency to offering training and resources to foster a healthy and productive workforce, FORTE will provide HR training, NARCAN training, job readiness programs, and placement. These programs are designed to not only respond effectively in the workplace but also our community.
Career seekers interested in supporting the health and recovery community are encouraged to join our efforts by obtaining training in new and emerging career pathways that help combat the opioid crisis. Through FORTE, we provide scholarships for training and then connect you with local businesses to help achieve your career goals.
